As I look out the window at our first really wintry day, I think back to this time a year ago. We were just starting to hear about this virus that was travelling the world, and had recently arrived in Canada. Fast forward a year, and here we are, staying home for the most part, and resorting to lots of technology to stay connected.
This has been a very difficult year for all of us, but I am an eternal optimist, and thus look forward to gathering again with my family and friends, as well as my musical colleagues.
The Grand River Chorus is but one of the many choral groups who have struggled to stay together during our forced separation. I believe we have succeeded and will return even stronger than before.
We have already begun making plans for the 2021-2022 season. I am hopeful we will be able to present three concerts next season, the first in December.
I hope you are all taking time for yourselves – it’s called ‘self-care’ for a reason! Fresh air is a wonderful tonic for the body and soul. Enjoy the sunshine, and I am confident we will be seeing you all soon!
