Create a new holiday tradition with Grand River Chorus
Get ready for singalongs, sleigh bells, and beautiful choral music.
“We know that the past few holiday seasons have been different for many people,” says GRC’s President, Susan Zakamarko. “Warm and meaningful holiday traditions that you can rely on year after year are so important, and we are excited to help families create an annual custom to kick off the festive season.”
Welcome to Brantford’s New Residents
The choir is also hoping to connect with folks who have recently made the move to the region. The City of Brantford and surrounding areas have seen steady population growth in recent years and Zakamarko wants to make sure new residents aren’t missing out on the region’s arts and culture scene.
“We are seeing lots of people make the move to Brantford and surrounding areas from places like Toronto, that have a major performing arts scene,” says Zakamarko. “We’re not Toronto, but our area has a vibrant and growing arts and culture community. We want to make sure new residents take advantage of everything we have to offer so we can continue to grow and thrive.”
Piano and Harp accompaniment and Audience participation
Zakamarko believes GRC’s annual holiday concert is the perfect introduction to the choir. It includes a harpist, the choral classic, Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, and lots of opportunities for the audience to get involved. The concert takes place at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Brantford on Sunday, December 10th. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
